This will be our 8th ALS Walk for a cure on November 20, 2021. It is later this year than last year, but PLEASE be prepared for SUN!!! We do have some sun out here in Arizona.
We are so thankful for all the people we have met on this journey that has lasted longer than we expected when I was diagnosed.
We continue to need your help for our local ALS Walk. All funds remain in Arizona to support the 300-400 families living with ALS. Personally, we now have more of a need as the longer I live (that's the good part), the more it will cost us(not good part).
We have been blessed by friends giving us vacations or equipment and much more, but the most important is your time and prayers. I can assure you that your donations will in part be used by me personally, as they have since my diagnosis on April 8, 2014.
Please visit my website, alsLoveLifeLIVELIFE.com, to see what we have been up to - if I get it updated.
What does amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) mean, anyway? It's Greek for "no muscle nourishment." And did you know that more than 5,000 people are diagnosed with this 100% fatal disease every year? Not sure I like the 100% fatal, but I guess everyone is assured of that, right :)
We love you guys, near and far. If you can make it on the 2nd, please do, it will be fun.
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
