Lou Gehrig was renowned for his prowess as a hitter and for his durability, a trait which earned him the nickname, "The Iron Horse". The Iron Horses team honors the durability in each person and family fighting the challenges of ALS.
We walk in honor and memory of all the people we have lost to this devastating disease. We walk to show support for all of the families and friends affected. Each of us has our own reason to walk - some walk to support programs, some walk to honor loved ones, some walk to raise awareness, but we all walk for HOPE.
Why We Need Your Help
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause, and still no cure, but there is hope. Thanks to fundraising efforts and advancements in research, the first FDA treatment to be approved in 20 years is now available.
This special day brings hope to people living with ALS and raises money for a cure. The 2020 Walk to Defeat ALS is vital to the continuation of services Arizonans with ALS rely on, and we need your support!
