Chris’ symptoms began in the summer of 2015 with difficulty swallowing. After many doctor visits and endless tests, she was diagnosed in March 2016 with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Her family was no stranger to ALS. Although this disease only affects 20,000 people in the country at a time, we also lost her father-in-law Gerald Klee to this debilitating disease.
As her symptoms continued to progress, she fought with courage and grace throughout her 6 year journey. We are walking in her memory on November 20th at Salt River Fields Stadium. Please join us in remembering what a courageous warrior she was throughout her fight with ALS. Her outlook was always positive, she leaned on her faith, and her family lifted her up.
Throughout all this, Chris was driven, determined, kind, and generous, with a clever sense of humor. She was most passionate about spending time with her family. She enjoyed teaching the kids’ catechism classes, visiting the family cabin in Flagstaff, and watching movies as a family. Chris was no stranger to lively conversation, spontaneously dancing to any Prince song that came on the radio, and going out of her way to help others. Her bright light will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to meet her.
In closing, we cannot say how absolutely wonderful The ALS Association Arizona Chapter has been for our family!! They continue to serve local families living with ALS. All of the donations and proceeds will go to local patients and families in Arizona.
We find comfort in the fact that Chris and Gerry are walking, talking, and dancing together in their new eternal home.
