Dear Friends.
Most of you are aware that " Team McDonald" was formed to honor my husband Bob, throughout and after his battle with ALS, which he lost in June 2016. During his last months, he could only swallow food in liquid form, spent 20 of 24 hours a day on a bi-pap machine to help him breathe and and was unable to move his legs, arms, hands, and fingers. Because of his love for his family, he was determined to make the most of each day and would get out of bed, with assistance, everyday. He used his chin to guide his wheelchair and was pretty darn good at it. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible on FaceTime watching and listening to his grandchildren and children
As a result of Bob's illness, I have met some wonderful people and made tremendous friends with others who have lost a loved one to ALS. I have also met those still facing the challenges ahead and have come to acknowledge that until there is a cure, their battle is mine as well. So, Team McDonald walks not only in memory of Bob but as our team slogan says, which Bob coined, " We walk for those who can't” and we walk for their families and loved ones.
Please support Team McDonald with a donation and join us on November 14 for the 2020 Virtual Walk to Defeat ALS.
Thanks so much for your help.
FOR BOB AND FOR THOSE NOW LIVING WITH HOPE FOR A CURE.
